Learn How To Recognize Child Asthma Symptoms
While one can try to understand child asthma symptoms, it is a medical practitioner that can accurately diagnose the condition as such. At the outset, it is important to know that not all the child breathing problems are actually asthma symptoms. However, it pays to be cautious and getting a doctor's advice in time may prove to be the reason your child does not grow up asthmatic.
A lot of factors lead to child asthma. These could be an exposure to cigarette smoke before or after birth, being brought up on a diet low on essential nutritional counts etc. Some doctors say that the darker the color of the skin the more the chances of developing child asthma symptoms. Pollutants such as dust in the air, water and soil, smoke or pollen in the air could also bring on child asthma symptoms.
The symptoms themselves include breathlessness, incessant coughing spells that occur frequently during play, laughing or at night when the child is asleep. The child may display a lack of energy during play, very rapid breathing, constantly changing his or her position in an effort to breathe easier, wheezing when breathing in or out, shortness of breath, tightening of the chest or the neck muscles, constant weakness or tiredness – these all could be child asthma symptoms.
It is not necessarily an asthma attack when these symptoms appear; consult a doctor immediately though as you will need qualified medical advice to help your child and a trained healthcare practitioner is the best person to try and figure out what is causing the symptoms. It could be pollen, animal hair, or even a change in temperature as well as exertion. When child asthma symptoms appear, try to do every thing to boost the child's immune system. A strong immune system is the only thing that will ward off any future asthma attacks.
